UPDATE

Things are going along fine with "On Borrowed Time". I can hardly wait to see it in print. I wonder what the design department will create for a book cover!

School Presentation

I went to Shady Lane School yesterday for an all fifth-grade presentation on the writing process. The students were great and had many interesting and insightful questions. I enjoyed every minute with them.

Presentations

I went to Cottage Grove School for an all third-grade presentation. The students were wonderful and so attentive. I enjoyed my time with them.

I also went to Glacial Drumlin Middle School and gave a presentation to the sixth-grade class. The students were very attentive, had fantastic questions, and made me feel very comfortable. That a way to go, teachers!

Writing

Do you like to write? There is nothing more satisfying than writing down all your thoughts and innermost feelings. Writing is a great catharsis. It keeps the mind active and is good for the soul.

Returning to School

Spent the day with my friend, Lisa., third grade teacher at Cottage Grove School. We worked on getting her classroom ready for the new school year. It amazes me how much work teachers have to do before they even begin the new year. We should hail these educators and let them know how much we appreciate them. That a way to go, Lisa.

Review for "Bent But Never Broken"

I received a review for "Bent But Never Broken" that I would like to share. The review is from Michelle Uevel

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your book, Bent but never broken. I’m not much of a reader, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and it kept me interested up until the end. I loved how you made it relevant to our geographic location and past current events as well. It’s amazing the tragedy that Karen overcame and it’s always nice to read a happy ending. I was trying to figure out the ending, and just as I thought I had it figured out, you would throw a twist in there. As I was reading it, I kept my boyfriend updated and he was entertained second hand. I’m handing it off to my mom as well, as I feel that she will enjoy it just as much as I did. Maria mentioned that she will be seeing you on Friday, so I have asked for another one of your books. I’m looking forward to reading the next one! Thanks again for such a wonderful book!!!!

Tadesco Writing Club

The Tadesco Writing Club is up and running. We had our first meeting in July and are scheduled to meet again August 14. We are eleven members strong and hope to get more once the school year begins.

We are in the process of writing stories and sharing them with one another.

The six-graders have claimed their "little sisters" (fourth-graders) and plan to help them out with whatever is needed.

I am proud of the group and am looking forward to increased membership.
