Book Review

Bent But Never Broken: review

Bent but never Broken explodes with twists and turns thru out the entire book. The conflicts, choices and emotions of the main character, Karen Scarponi, kept me wondering and hoping for her with every page I turned. What a powerful book. I loved that the setting of the book was focused around the Author, Carole Madrzak's home town.

Congratulations on another fine book from Author Carole Madrzak

Bent But Never Broken/Reader Review

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your recent novel. I was captivated by the level of detail and how you can think so creatively. I couldn’t help but feel for the main character and hope that everything turned out well for her. You are truly talented and I wish you the best with your continued writing.

Writing

I'm working on two stories. I can't seem to quiet my mind. I shared the plot to the first story with you, now I'll share the plot to the second story. My grandson, Thomas, phoned me one day and suggested it.

What happens when an out of control teenager finds himself trapped in his car that has stalled on a railroad track and the train is barreling toward him at full speed? Is his prayer for one more chance to right the wrongs he had done answered? If it is, how is that possible?

New Story

Fan club members,
I'm moving quite nicely on my new children's chapter book. What do you think happens when a father gives his son a family heirloom...a mysterious pyramid shaped crystal for safe keeping? It will keep you guessing and then surprise you.

School Presentation

I went to Grand Avenue School in Prarie du Sac to give a presentation on the writing process. I had a great time with the third grade students. I especially enjoyed my assistant, Isaac.

BENT BUT NEVER BROKEN

My new book, "Bent But Never Broken" is available for purchase. Scroll down to read the synopsis in a previous post. I know you will love this story about the strength and determination of the female spirit. Through adversity, the main character finds the strength to rise above it all. Through her determined self-reliance, she makes an impact on others and makes her life count for something.

New Children's Story

I thought I had the perfect plot for a new book, but now I'm not too sure. I promised an update on my progress, but I'm afraid I'm blocked right now. I'm sure it will come to me. I just need to be patient.

Book Signing

I was at the Fountaindale Public Library in Bolingbrook, Illinois on April 16 for the annual Author Fair. Many authors attended the event. It was exciting and very enjoyable. Many people stopped by my table and talked to me about my books and the experiences I had in writing them. The children were especially interested in the creativity faction and time it takes to write a story.

Hi,
I had a wonderful time at the Cottage Grove School Book Fair. I enjoyed meeting your parents.

New Book

My new adult contemporary fiction/romance book is in preproduction. Here is a short synopsis of the story:

Set against the backdrop of abuse, murder, and corruption, Bent but Never Broken is a testimony to the courage and determination of the female spirit. The story paints a portrait of one individual’s struggle to go beyond the hurt and rise anew.
Despite the hateful ravings of an alcoholic, drug addicted mother and the advances of her men-friends, Karen Scarponi emerges a strong and positive young woman, but fate continues to rear its ugly head. She is forced to suffer the degradation of rape and a secret too painful to bear. An abusive marriage and subsequent murder are part of yet another chapter in her life. She rises once again from of the ashes of despair, falls in love, and marries. While volunteering in the aftermath of the 2010 hurricane in Haiti, she stumbles onto the key that opens the door to her heart and sets her dream free.
