Fan Mail

I received a note from a fan and thought I would pass it on to you. This is a school report by J.R.M. from Texas:

Join the Frankle family as they venture out into Rocky Mountain National Park. What dangers might occur or what dilemmas might they find themselves in. Find out all the answers to these questions and more as you read "Suddenly Alone" by Carole Madrzak. Climb Flat Top Mountain all the way to the summit with sixteen-year-old Shannon and her twin fourteen-year-old-brothers, Derrick and Dustin, and of course, their parents, Bruce and Nicole. The adventure starts on their trek down the side of the mountain. The teenagers are separated from their parents through a small quake of the mountain. The parents quickly head back to the ranger station to see if they can get some help finding their children. Will the parents ever find the children? Or are the children already mauled by Black Bear Lola? Who knows what will happen next.

Where: Rocky Mountain National Park

When: Current

What to bring: An anticipation for suspense and the expectation of much humor.

Thought for the day

Where would we be without creativity?

School Presentation

I will be at Cottage Grove Elementary School October 5 for an author visit. I will talk on the writing process and getting published. I will also read a chapter from my first book, "Moonlight Dare".

New Story

I'm finished writing my new story. It is now being edited before I send it off to a publisher. It is a work of fiction centering on the life of one girl, her trials and tribulations as she grows into adulthood. It is filled with heart, courage, determination, murder, mystery and faith.

School Presentations

I Went to Schenk Elementary School yesterday for a presentatio to the 4th and 5th graders. It was wonderful and the students were very respectful. That a way to go, Schenk students.

Today, I went to Yahara Emementary School for a presentation on the writing process. Every student was attentive and well-informed. I enjoyed their questions and especially that the teachers read "Moonlight Dare" to their students prior to my visit. That a way to go, Yahara teachers!

Beaver Dam Arts Council / Radio Interview

I was the featured speaker at the Beaver Dam Arts Council today talking about my writing as well as being creative in retirement. Brenda Murphy from KWEV 1430 on the AM dial was in the audience. After my talk, she asked if I would be a guest on her show. This evening she sent an email asking for possible dates. Will post the date as soon as I know.

Sharing Good News

I recently received an email from a parent I would like to share with you. The note is as follows:

Hello Carole,

I hope this isn't too forward, but I'm writing to ask a favor. My daughter, Meghan, has recently been given an assignment to write about a turning point in her life. She loves writing, reads nearly everything she can get her hands on, and wants to become an author. She told me that she made this decision 4 years ago, when she heard you speak to her third grade class in DeForest, and was introduced to your book "Secrets Inside Bington Manor". She read it, and has been hooked on reading and writing ever since. I was hoping that you could perhaps write her a little message and personally autograph a copy of the book for her. It would really mean a lot, since it (and you) are the source of her inspiration. I work in Madison (I'm a teacher at Madison East High School). If I were to buy a copy, would it be possible for us to meet so I could get you to sign it for her? If you no longer reside in or around Madison, I could also mail a copy and include return postage. I'm sure you are very busy, but thank you so much for your consideration.

Upcoming Events

I have several events lined up for the months of March and April.
In March, I will be in Beaver Dam as the key note speaker for the art festival.
In April, I will be presenting to the students of Schenk Middle School and attending the annual book fair at Fountaindale Public Library in Bolingbrook, IL.
I will write about my experiences after each event.
